OMBA is pleased to announce the 6th annual OMBA Decathlon
WHEN: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17, 2016 @ 09:30 a.m
8:30 – 9:15 am Rider check in
9:15 – 9:30 am Rider event review meeting
WHERE: CAMP FORTUNE
WHAT: Several short but fun events occurring all on the same day. There will be:
- Men’s Trail/AM Category geared to folks who typically stick to the XC circuit at CF or SMH. Some examples of the possible events: Brian’s Climb, Brian’s Descent, Switchback, sections of Sunset, Junior or Humdinger Climb, some or all of Salamander
- Women’s Trail/AM Category geared to the women folks who typically stick to the XC circuit at CF or SMH. Some examples of the possible events: Brian’s Climb, Brian’s Descent, Switchback, sections of Sunset, Junior or Humdinger Climb, some or all of Salamander
- DH/Enduro Category geared to those folks who typically ride the DH trails at CF (closely resembling the Matt Woods E-Ride experience). You’ll need to know the trails for this one because they are not suitable for racing blindly, they are replete with intersections and there will be no signage telling you which way to go. Some examples of the possible events to give you an idea: Megalodon Slopestyle, Smell my Combo, Uberpunch, Oz/KP, Bill’s to Rockfest, Brian’s. If you’re asking yourself “where are those trails?”, this is not your category. If you are still interested, you should go check out Woods’ E-ride on Tuesdays to get an idea of what’s in store.
- BBQ to follow.
WHY: Fun, supporting local hospitals and bike shops
WHO: You, our OMBA members.
DETAILS: to follow. For up to date information see the OMBA Forums event page
REGISTRATION: Will be online only. This year the plan is to make pre-registration mandatory (NO SHOWING UP ON SITE) so we can be better prepared. The multiple events don’t work with large numbers. So the plan for this year is to find out in advance how many participants we have and we’ll plan the number of events around that, focusing on the fun stuff.
VOLUNTEERS: would be much appreciated! Pipe up if you are interested.
