NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

 

TO ALL EXISTING MEMBERS OF OMBA:

 

TAKE NOTICE that OMBA’s  6th Annual General Meeting will take place on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Garden Room, Ron Kolbus­-Lakeside Centre (Lakeside Gardens) 102 Greenview Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, http://ottawa.ca/en/facility/ron-kolbus-lakeside-centre

  2. Proof of Notice of Meeting
  3. President’s Report
  4. Discussion and Approval of Financial Statements for Year Ended Dec. 31, 2015
  5. Presentation of 2016 Budget
  6. Confirmation of# of Director positions
  7. Election of 2016 Board of Directors
  8. New Business
  9. Adjournment

Each existing OMBA member present at the meeting has the right to exercise one vote. A member may by means of a written proxy, appoint a proxy holder to attend and act in the manner and to the extent authorized by the proxy.  A proxy holder must be an OMBA member.  A proxy form is available from this link: Proxy form for OMBA 2016 AGM

Existing OMBA members are those who registered as members during the 2015 calendar year or prior to March 31 in the 2016 calendar year. Any non-members wishing to become an OMBA member may do so by following the application instructions at OMBA’s website www.ottawamba.org. Applications received and approved on or prior to March 31, 2016 shall be entitled to attend and vote at the annual general meeting.

 

Any existing OMBA member 18 years of age or older, of sound mind and who is not an undischarged  bankrupt may run for a director’s  position.  Advance notice of a candidate’s intention is appreciated and should be communicated by email to president@ottawamba.org in order to facilitate advance preparation of ballots but it is not strictly required.  Candidates may indicate their intention at the meeting.  Candidates wishing to run for a director’s  position will be required to introduce themselves at the meeting and tell the membership why they want to be a director and what they can contribute in 1-2 minutes.  Information regarding the role and responsibilities of directors may be found at https://www.ic.gc.ca/eic/site/cilp-pdci.nsf/vwapj/Primer_en.pdf/$FILE/Primer_en.pdf
