SUMMARY:Larose Group Ride
DESCRIPTION:Duration: 1 hr 30 min – 2 hours\nPublic · Anyone on or off Facebook\nMeeting Point: P1 Parking lot beside the Henri Latreille Shelter (check Facebook event for details)\nStarting at 5:45 and Ready to ride by 6:00pm \nIf you are planning to attend\, please mark yourself as “going” on the Facebook event located on our events page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/17529124824/events). \nExpectation: Rides will be broken down into groups (described below) if needed and designated as “no drop” so the groups will stay together. Groups will be kept to around 8 riders including lead and sweep for best flow. Riders should be self sufficient as in having a spare tube\, pump or CO2 and some knowledge on the workings of their bike. These rides are intended to be a positive and supportive outing. \nPlease note it is required to be an active OMBA member to participate in the group rides.\nIn the event that we have more individuals then available ride leaders\, groups will be broken down with preference given to the lower skill sets. \nDuration: 1 hr 30 min varying as daylight increases.\nReady to ride: 5:45 pm – groups created\, hitting the trails by 6:00\nWaivers: This year OMBA has moved to a virtual waiver with CCN for anyone that is not a member. Please complete the waiver ahead of the ride start. \nOMBA/AVMO Participant Waiver \n\nWeather cancellation will be decided by 5PM. Cancellations could be due to expected weather (High winds\, lightning) or if conditions are too wet and will cause excessive damage to the trails. \nD Group:\nLevel: Beginner rider but not new to trail riding.\nExpectation: Our D group rides are geared towards riders that are starting to explore Larose but are not new to the concept of riding single track or ungroomed trails with features and roots.\nThe Ride: D Group will ride the core trails from P1 as in trails #1 to #9 including features such as bridges\, whoop di dos\, mini sidewinder and Le Jump which are optional\, to introduce the trails and build confidence. Expect frequent stops to regroup. \nC Group:\nLevel: Beginner to Intermediate rider\nExpectation: The C group starting this year will be geared for riders that are starting to ride trails such as all the P1 and P7 trails including the connector but may not be comfortable riding it solo for example. C group rides have the expectation of frequent stops at more challenging sections and to regroup.\nThe Ride: Early season rides will explore the core trails at P1 and/or P7\, possibly not the full trail depending on the group but the goal will be to complete them all in either direction over the season. \nB Group:\nLevel: Intermediate to Advanced rider\nExpectation: B Group Rides are ideal for the rider that can ride either All of P1 and P7 at a fair pace in the indicated time frame not necessarily clean (free of having to step off the pedals) but not riding at your maximum limit. Typically riders in this group frequent P1 and P7 or P4 and are building their skills by observing other riders or looking for more of a social ride.\nThe Ride: These rides will typically focus on all features and may session some key areas depending on audience and duration of daylight. \nA Group:\nRide Leader: Self lead\nLevel: Advanced Rider\nExpectation: Typical A Group riders are capable of riding both P1 and P7 trails relatively quickly with little to no breaks in the allotted time without overextending themselves. Since this is the most advanced group of riders ride leaders will be prioritized for the other groups so some weeks this ride may be consider “self lead”\nThe Ride: These rides will be driven by the group but will typically explore more trails with the expectation of reasonable pace the full ride with short\, quick stops.
