There hasn’t been a lot of singletrack in Gatineau Park.

At least officially.

Over the years, unofficial trails have exploded. So much so that there are
currently more unofficial trails in the Park than official ones and the NCC
plans to eliminate some, while making others official.

OMBA/AVMO has been working hard with the NCC to improve the official trail
network to meet the demand for challenging singletrack trails while
allowing the NCC to meet their legal obligations to protect species at risk
and reduce the overall negative impacts on the Park’s ecological health.

After 3 years of user group and public consultation that OMBA/AVMO has been
heavily involved in, here is the proposed plan for the Responsible Trail
Management in Gatineau Park.

There would be up to an additional 100km of singletrack trails added to the
official network. There are some really nice trails in there (check out the
link below for more details). But keep in mind that singletrack trails on
the Eardley Escarpment trails would still not allow mountain biking because
of the sensitivity of the ecosystem

Now is the last chance for public input. Please take a few minutes to read
the information about the Sustainable Trails and respond to the NCC survey.
